We have talented chefs in almost every restaurant on every single island that can make you a vegetarian meal that will leave you happy, healthy and full. Occasionally, you might stumble across an Outer Banks restaurant that does not have a specified vegetarian item on the menu, but this doesn't mean you can't feast without meat! Family-owned and -operated, La Fogata Kitty Hawk Mexican Restaurant offers traditional Mexican fare in a casual setting that can accommodate large parties indoors and also offers outdoor seating. All the dishes on their extensive menu are available for dine-in or take-out, and online ordering is available. If you're feeding a crowd, order their family-style dinners of enchiladas, burritos or fajitas, or hire them to cater a taco bar. Local shrimp and lamb are on the menu as well. The hands-on owners freshly bake the pitas to perfection every day, as well as the dough for their personal 9-inch pizzas with your choice of toppings, including a Greek option. Breakfast includes traditional breakfast sandwiches, pita wraps, egg plates and spanakopita that can be kicked up a notch with a variety of add-ins. Located in Spencer's Market on School Road, Helios' Hideaway is open Monday through Saturday for takeout breakfast and lunch, and outdoor seating is available. Online ordering is available. Don't forget the baklava!
