Outer Banks bars and entertainment options are as prevalent as the people who frequent them. The Outer Banks has some really fun bars where you can let loose and turn up! You can dance the night away in some (and maybe even witness some dance moves you didn't know your friends or family members had in them), sip a perfectly concocted martini in a grown-up setting in another or join your friends for a raucous good time at a sports bar. Outer Banks entertainment at area restaurants -- the nighttime variety -- runs the gamut from live local bands, DJs and acoustic singers to nationally known acts and karaoke. Trivia Nights are popular in several as are Ladies Nights. There's even one restaurant that holds Teen Nights so that that age group gets to have their time in the nightlife scene -- strictly supervised, of course. As much as Outer Banks restaurants have become known for their high quality menu offerings, those that offer a bar scene have also earned a well-deserved reputation for excellence. Many Outer Banks bars employ true mixologists -- not just someone who throws drinks together at a fast clip. And many of the Outer Banks bars also serve late-night menus. Here's a hint from a local: If you're staying out late at a bar having a great time, make sure that experience continues by taking a cab home. The Outer Banks has a plethora of them, and they often hang out outside popular nightspots. Our Outer Banks police officers are very diligent about stopping people who could be over the limit (and, by the way, we thank them for that!), so don't push your luck. Also, don't expect to pull the wool over the guys at the door by trying to use a fake ID at any bars and entertainment spots. The bouncers around these parts have seen it all -- this is, after all, a very popular vacation spot!
