Fish Head's Bar & Grill

Oceanfront dining doesn’t get much better than this! Located on the beach at milepost 18.5, Fish Head’s Bar and Grill is a popular hangout on the Outer Banks, and it’s easy to see why. Our restaurant opens up to the Outer Banks Fishing Pier, which extends over the ocean. People love joining us for a beverage on the pier, inside, at the bar or on the deck.

After all, if it’s not the view that draws in the crowd, it’s the beer – Fish Head’s Bar and Grill’s selection of craft beers on draft offers over 30 choices. Be sure to to sample the Pier Jumper, a house signature made for Fish Head’s by Coronade Brewing Company in San Diego. We also have a number of bottled and canned brews too. If beer isn’t so much your style, we have wine and sake, or order a drink from our full bar. At Fish Head's, though, we’re more than just drinks. We’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Come see us for a breakfast sandwich to fuel your morning fishing activities or join us for lunch, snacks, dinner or nightcap.

A Nags Head Restaurant, Bar and More

Our family-friendly environment is an awesome place to dine outside or overlooking the Atlantic. We have plenty of snacks for your happy hour, including our daily special on steamed shrimp, available from 4 to 6 p.m., which the Outer Banks Voice named 2018’s best happy hour. Throughout the day we serve baskets of fried seafood or chicken, fresh fish sandwiches and tacos, burgers, salads and more. And don't forget to save room for dessert too; ask about each day’s special.

But let’s go back to the pier. Not only do people like dining out here, but they also like fishing. Fish Head’s adjoining Outer Banks Pier is open to anglers – no fishing license required! Our south Nags Head location makes Fish Head’s Bar and Grill a part of the fishing pier that's the closest to the Oregon Inlet. There’s a pier house that sells bait and tackle and rents rods and reels. Daily, weekly and weekend passes for the pier are available for the pier.
