Baby Links

Baby LINKS works to support every new mother and her child from birth to age one in Dare County by empowering them to be healthy, secure, and ready for success.

Block Play Extravaganza

Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County was excited to hold our Annual Block Play Extravaganza in Nags Head on March 10-11, 2023, and in Buxton on March 20, 2023. 

Child Care Financial Assistance Program

The Child Care Financial Assistance Program offers financial assistance for families who need child care services, so that parents/responsible caretakers can work, seek employment, participate in employment training, or attend school.

Child Care Resource & Referral

CCR&R offers child care referrals and information on choosing quality child care for families looking for early learning and out-of-school options in Dare County; provides training, technical assistance, and support to early learning programs and professionals; promotes increased education for Dare County Early Care & Education Professionals by offering professional development planning; provides information on child care supply and demand; and advocates for children's and child care issues for the community.

Explore to Learn Playgroup

Explore to Learn is an organized, interactive playgroup that allows children and caregivers to participate in coordinated group activities to prepare the children for success in school and life. 

Parenting Enrichment Program

The Parenting Enrichment Program offers a series of free parenting workshops throughout the year. To receive information on these workshops when they are available, be sure to sign up for our email list or visit our Events page, www.darekids.org/events.

Quality Early Learning

The Quality Early Learning program provides assistance to licensed early learning centers and family child care homes to improve and enhance the quality of child care offered, and to increase their star-rated license. The program provides training on the Environment Rating Scales, pre-assessment, consultation and development of a 6-month action plan, one-on-one technical assistance, training, post-assessment, and assistance with star-rated license application.

Raising a Reader

Raising a Reader is a take-home Red Book Bag program that provides children and families with quality books and knowledge about the importance of early literacy. By promoting "book cuddling" among families, Raising a Reader is strengthening relationships and building early reading skills in preschool children.

Reach Out and Read

Reach Out and Read is an early literacy initiative that uses the research that we know about the special relationship between medical providers and their patients to promote the early literacy development of children ages birth to 5 years and their families.
