This drive-thru beverage store offers a huge variety of beer, wine (no hard liquor) and beverages, and you never have to leave your car – the cartender brings your order to you. You may also walk into the Breeze Thru General Store, which has everything you would expect from a convenience store but so much more, including lottery tickets, vaping supplies, cell phone minutes, phone accessories, an ATM, ice, propane, firewood, 5-gallon water jugs, wine, hats and, of course, the famous Breeze Thru T-Shirts. Breeze Thru also offers the only keg service on Hatteras Island. The store, which features Sunoco gas, is located at milepost 55 and is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. You gotta do the Breeze Thru!

The original Cotton Gin has stood in the same location in Jarvisburg since 1929, starting as a working cotton gin and growing into a gift store with four locations. The store's primary location in Jarvisburg currently is being rebuilt following a fire, but there's a Pop-Up location nearby in the meantime. The Cotton Gin's other locations in Corolla, Duck and Nags Head offer visitors the same unique shopping experience that the establishment is known for. You’ll find resort fashion for men and women from fine designers like Vineyard Vines, Southern Tide, Habitat and Simply Southern. Other top accessory designers include Pandora, Vera Bradley and Spartina 449. They also offer home fashions, candles, books, garden accessories and products for the gourmet kitchen. The Cotton Gin stores also sell the wines of their sister business, Sanctuary Vineyards. In-store tastings of their many locally grown wine varieties are available.

The Variety Store is the one-stop island shop where you'll find fresh produce, hand-cut meats, beer and wine and almost all of your grocery needs. It's also the place for t-shirts, beach supplies, ice, household items, over-the-counter medicines, toiletries and gifts. The front foyer has a bulletin board and racks containing local announcements, news, menus, advertisements and information about island happenings. The hardware store next door offers tools, hardware and electrical, home, garden and automotive supplies. They're open seven days a week in season.
