Outer Banks Restaurants

Chinese, Japanese, Sushi & Thai

For such a relatively small geographic area, the Outer Banks sure does have a great selection of ethnic foods to experience. And one area that is particularly well represented is Asian-inspired restaurants. We note them here as Chinese, Japanese, Sushi and Thai, but, really, we should expand that list of influences to include Vietnam, Korea, Fuji and Cambodia! And, we can also cite Hawaii and countries from the Pacific Rim. Expertly rolled sushi is one of the items you'd expect to find in this category, but how about Korean Bulgogi (kind of like barbecue), Wagyu beef seared on hot stones, Manila Seafood Curry, Ginger Fish or Buddhist Vegetables. The delicate flavors of lemongrass, chilis, cilantro, lime and other flavors are prevalent and infuse the atmosphere as soon as you enter. One thing is for sure: You'll be impressed by the authenticity and variety of the dishes. Since many of these Outer Banks restaurants are owned by Asian natives, you will also appreciate the decor that enhances the experience. To accompany the specialty meals, most of these restaurants also serve a range of sakes and beers from their region. One even offers seven different types of sake, which you can order by the flight for a wide sampling.
