Having an Outer Banks event and don't want to do the cooking? Boy, are you in luck. Due in no small part to the fact that the Outer Banks is one of the most popular East Coast wedding destinations, we are happily awash in good caterers. Most catering services are part of the offerings of a restaurant, but there are several companies that only do catering. No matter what you're looking for, Outer Banks caterers can fill the bill -- from elegant sit-down, gourmet dinners to backyard barbecue picnics to buffets that can serve a lot of guests quickly. And, most caterers have off-premises liquor licenses too, so that you don't have to go to the trouble of getting a one-day license yourself. But there's a different sort of catering too, and that's chef services where a chef and possibly a server or two come to your home to prepare a meal for you. Especially if you have a whole crew with you that makes dining out challenging, hiring a chef service can be a really good -- and fun -- option. Most will even prepare a meal that's appealing to the little ones (while you big ones relax with a nice beverage) then serve the main meal later on, at more of an adult hour.
