This oceanfront motel features rooms with small refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers and a choice of double or king beds. Efficiencies come with complete kitchens. They have one efficiency with a Jacuzzi tub. Rooms feature private balconies, and the second and third floors have stunning ocean views. Amenities include cable TV, WiFi access in rooms, two outdoor pools and a heated indoor pool with a hot tub. YMCA passes are available upon request at the front desk. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms or on the balconies. No pets are allowed. The Blue Heron Motel is closed January through mid-February.

Captain’s Landing Waterfront Inn on Ocracoke is a well-designed waterfront hotel offering suites, a penthouse and a cottage. All accommodations provide stunning panoramic views of the Ocracoke lighthouse, village and harbor life. Each suite offers a private deck, fully equipped kitchen, a queen-size bedroom, a full-size sleep sofa in the living room and one-and-a-half baths. The spacious penthouse features a gourmet kitchen, a large living room and dining area, a master suite, a guest bedroom, an office/den with sleep sofa, two full baths and a laundry room. The cottage has two bedrooms, two baths, a living/dining area with a sectional sofa and a laundry room. Two large decks, enclosed outdoor shower, private courtyard with a gas grill and picnic table round out the amenities. All accommodations offer WiFi, DVD players, linens and housekeeping service. Bicycles and golf carts are availble for rent, and boat dockage is available upon request.
