The building that houses The Atlantic Inn has been serving Hatteras village’s visitors since 1928. On the National Register of Historic Places, this landmark, originally called Atlantic View Hotel, was the first lodging on Hatteras Island and was frequented by sportsmen who came to the island to fish and hunt. A beautiful example of classic coastal shingle-style architecture, the inn was severely damaged in Hurricane Isabel in 2003, completely renovated and reopened in 2006 as The Seaside Inn. New on-site owners in 2020 changed the name to The Atlantic Inn and extensively renovated the inn to its former glory but with the addition of crisp, clean modern details. Just a five-minute walk from the ocean, it's a wonderful home base for participating in island adventures, exploring the local attractions or just relaxing and enjoying island time. Each of the 10 rooms and suites is decorated in individual style and equipped with a private bath, a TV, WiFi, a Keurig coffeemaker and a refrigerator. A full homemade breakfast is included and is offered in the main lounge/dining area, on the front porch or on the back deck. Several decks and indoor and outdoor sitting areas make for nice places to relax on-site. This is a great place to hold weddings or special events. The inn is on the ocean side of N.C. Highway 12, a short walk from the ocean, on the north end of Hatteras village.

The Burrus House Inn is a newly renovated bed and breakfast-style inn for family vacations, couples' retreats, weddings and other special events needing a beautiful setting. Every room boasts views of Shallowbag Bay. The spacious main building is a classic Outer Banks beach house that has been remodeled and decorated to inspire the light and inviting mood. The Burrus House Inn's 12 suites each have their own bedroom with a king or queen size bed, some with separate sitting room, kitchenette, bath and private deck. The common areas give guests places to meet and mingle with their fellow travelers, or to simply kick back in a rocker and watch the boats pass by. Roanoke Island Inn is one of Manteo’s most beautiful historic inns. It’s in the heart of the historic district, situated along the boardwalk and overlooking the water. The original building dates to the 1860s, and later additions and renovations have this inn sprawling over its large lot with lush landscaping and a quaint picket fence. The inn offers eight rooms with private baths and outside entrances; two of the accommodations are family suites. Dog-friendly accommodations are available. A comfortable common area (wait until you see the frescoed ceiling), a peaceful back yard with a koi pond and a well-stocked innkeeper’s pantry are welcoming touches. Guests have 24-hour access to the fully stocked pantry, and a continental breakfast is set out each morning from 8 to 11 a.m. WiFi is available in the guest rooms and the lobby. In the backyard garden is a bungalow offering two bedrooms and a wet bar but no cooking facilities. Children are welcomed in the two family suites and in the bungalow, and dogs are allowed in the bungalow. Bikes are available for guests to use. They close in January and February every year.
Roanoke Island Inn is now also offering the Croatan Cottage, a charming fully restored and furnished 1920s Sears kit home located in downtown Manteo next to the entrance to Roanoke Island Festival Park.
