Natural Art has been a fixture on the Hatteras Island surfing scene since 1977, and it’s all about serious surfing. Owner Scott Busbey crafts his renowned In The Eye Surfboards here, a brand he has been perfecting since 1968. He and his staff shape custom boards and create custom artwork so you can design your own. They also sell new and used surfboards and skimboards and rent surfboards, bodyboards and wetsuits, plus they repair surfboards and other fiberglass boards. All the surfing support gear is here too: clothing, footwear, wetsuits, rash guards, accessories, original design t-shirts and handmade clothes by owner Carol Busbey. Natural Art/In The Eye t-shirts are a treasured island souvneir. You can also find materials to build your own surfboard. 

In a prime location right on Pamlico Sound, Ocean Air Sports has been making Hatteras Island watersports adventures happen since 1987. Gulf Stream Gifts carries a wonderful selection of 14 karat gold, sterling silver and costume jewelry with a nautical flair. Featured designers are Charles Albert, Vera Wolf, Marahlago and Goddess Designs as well as North Carolina artists. Their jewelry features a variety of stones such as larimar, lab opals, amethyst, abalone and turquoise as well as Outer Banks sea glass. Gulf Stream also carries home decor such as mermaid prints by Robert Kline, metal art, sea glass pictures, books by local writer Suzanne Tate, Jim Shore figurines and more. The shop owners and staff have been serving Outer Banks shoppers for nearly 35 years. Their motto is "May all who enter as guests leave as friends."
