Home of the famous National Geographic show Wicked Tuna North vs. South, this state-of-the-art marina and service facility has a ship's store, drystack storage, floating docks, inshore and offshore charter fishing boats, a dolphin tour boat, a fuel dock, in-slip fueling and a tiki bar with weekly music and specials. The marina offers centralized booking for offshore and inshore fishing charters, from full-day excursions to the Gulf Stream to half-day, light-tackle trips in the sound. They also offer several specialty fishing trips, including shrimping and crabbing charters as well as exclusive dolphin tour adventures with Paradise Dolphin Cruises, one of the most highly rated dolphin cruises on the Outer Banks. Their marine services department is a large, full-service facility with haulout and restoration and repair capabilities.
Wanchese Tiki Bar at Safe Harbor Outer Banks is a locals' favorite for fun directly on the Wanchese docks. They serve cold draft beer and wine. Get here in late afternoon (between 4 and 5 p.m.) and you'll be able to see the charter boats coming in and unloading their catches. There's live music on the weekends in the warm seasons. Johanna's at the Wanchese Tiki Hut is an onsite food truck providing tasty snacks for the whole family.
