A Hot, New Restaurant in Manteo, NC

Based at Hotel Manteo, Firetender Stone-Oven Cooking & Bar goes far beyond the typical hotel restaurant. Contemporary, comfortable, relaxed and fun, Firetender has quickly become a favorite local hangout thanks to our superb stone-oven pizzas, expertly crafted cocktails, Weeping Radish beers on tap, and variety of food and drink offerings.

With dark walls and sophisticated design details, our cosmopolitan setting is a surprise in a small coastal town like Manteo, yet it works, offering a level of sophistication that the people of Manteo were craving. It’s perfect for lingering at the bar, dining in an intimate nook or gathering with friends at a table indoors or on the patio. 

Custom-built stone ovens are at the heart of our restaurant, the source of our incredibly crispy stone-oven pizzas and our hearth-fired skillet meals served in a cast-iron skillet. Seating is available at the pizza bar, where you can watch the chefs prepare these specialty delights. The menu also includes chef-prepared small plates, salads, entrees, kids' offerings and desserts. Our Sunday brunch menu features stone-oven breakfast pizzas and frittatas and favorites like avocado toast, omelets, chicken and waffles, French toast and more, along with mimosas and a dang-good bloody Mary, of course.

We are proud to be a taproom for Weeping Radish Brewery, which originated in Manteo and was the first microbrewery in North Carolina. Along with bringing Weeping Radish beers back to Manteo, Firetender serves a Weeping Radish pretzel, a source of joy for people who remember them at the original Weeping Radish Brewery.

Firetender serves dinner six nights a week and Sunday brunch. Takeout and free delivery are available.
