Captain Ritchie Howell, who runs the Backin' Up Fishing Charters, has over 30 years of experience as a captain. Howell operates inshore and near-offshore charters out of Pirate's Cove Marina in Manteo, NC.
Measuring 46 feet, Backin' Up is the largest inshore boat in Pirate Cove's fleet and is an inshore and near-offshore fishing vessel. It has lots of space to fish and relax! The boat also features air conditioning, a bathroom, three fighting chairs and a comfortable salon. Ritchie restored the boat himself and it's been featured in both Marlin and In the Bite magazines.
Backin’ Up is licensed for up to 6 people and provides all bait, tackle and includes your license your day’s catch.
We offer the following Outer Banks Charter Fishing Trips:
- Half Day Trips: 6 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
- 3/4 Day Trips: 6 a.m. - Noon or 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Full Day Inshore/Nearshore Trips: 6 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Extended Day Trips: 6 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- Sunset Champagne Cruise: Times for this trip vary.
