Ocracoke Alive brings the island’s culture to life with music, theater, dance, and storytelling that celebrate the spirit of Ocracoke. Each summer, the Deepwater Theater hosts weekly music shows from June through September. The island comes alive each year with signature events such as the Ocrafolk Music & Storytelling Festival in early June, a Heritage Festival in the fall, and an Earth Day Celebration in the spring. The purpose of Ocracoke Alive, Inc. is to enrich the Ocracoke Island community by encouraging and sponsoring cultural, artistic, educational, and environmental activities, including plays, musicals, concerts, exhibits, workshops, and festivals. Ocracoke Alive is a private nonprofit 501(c)3, dedicated to keeping the arts and culture of the island thriving for both residents and visitors.
