Last week:

Last Friday was a school spirit day.  Students and staff alike got into the spirit and rocked the 80's:-)

Thursday, we had our annual 2nd to 3rd grade transition night.  Thank you to all the parents that came out to learn all about a typical day in third grade and what will be expected of their child in the next school year.

Give 5 Read 5 started last week.  This is such a great program.     

This week:

This Wednesday and Thursday will be ELA and Math EOGs.  If you have a student that is about to take these tests, please:

1. Make sure he/she gets plenty of rest/sleep the night before
2. Make sure he/she has a healthy breakfast the morning of
3. Make sure he/she gets lots of hugs, support and encouragement 

It is the little things that can make the biggest different!  

Our PTA would like everyone to know that yearbooks can still be ordered.  They are $15.00 and checks can be made payable to KHES PTA.  

FIELD DAY, FIELD DAY, FIELD DAY!

Friday, May 29th, is our annual Field Day!  It is important that students come to school prepared for this super fun day.  Sunscreen is highly recommended and water is a must!  We are also in need of volunteers so please email Coach D if you are available to help (dvorinda@daretolearn.org).  Rain date is June 1st.

In the weeks to come:

Tuesday, June 9th, is the 5th grade kickball tournament.  It will be held from 8:30 to 12:30.

Wednesday, June 10th, is a makeup day.  We will have a full day of school and a lot of special events going on that day.  First, we will have 5th grade graduation at 10:30.  Then, we will have our awards ceremony at 1:00.  Please join us for these celebrations:-)

Thursday, June 11th, is also a makeup day.  This last day of school will be a half day.  Dismissal will be at 12:00.  

This is my last blog for this school year so I hope everyone has a wonderful summer vacation.
