Well, it is technically Spring and it has finally started to feel like it in the last few days. This warmer weather, however, reminds us that the school year is rapidly coming to an end. Third Nine Week Report cards will be coming home on April 14th so that is a good time to call or email your child's teacher to set up a conference if needed.
We had some special visitors in our building this past week. Kindergarten registration always fills our school with excitement as our future students enter our school and meet our kindergarten teachers and assistants. Their excitement is contagious! So much to look forward to in the 2015-2016 school year!
We have exciting events coming up this week. Please mark your calendar....
1. The Battle of the Books competition will be held on March 31st at 9am. This event will take place at Manteo High School. Our team would truly appreciate some support and encouragement.
2. Tom Sawyer will be performed at KHES. Ms. Penny and some of our very talented students have been practicing for their two shows on April 2nd. The first show will be a matinee during the school day...9am. The second will be an evening show at 7pm. Please come out and enjoy this amazing show!
Finally, the words we have all been waiting for....SPRING BREAK!!! We will have a full day on Thursday, April 2nd but at dismissal time, Spring break will officially begin. We will have no school on 4/3, 4/6, 4/7, 4/8, 4/9, and 4/10. We hope to see everyone well rested and ready to learn on Monday 4/13. Please enjoy your family time but remember to read, read, read! We need to keep all our students on track to finish this school year successfully!
