Last week:
Earth Day was April 22nd. To celebrate, 3rd grade students planted seeds and placed them in the greenhouse. A huge THANK YOU to Walmart for donating the cups, soil and seeds! These students also participated in PROJECT PLANT IT! which was sponsored by Dominion. THANK YOU Dominion! This project provided a wonderful educational opportunity for our students to learn all about trees and how important they are to our environment. Each student was gifted a seedling to take home and plant. What a great way to celebrate Arbor Day! Are you familiar with Arbor Day? If not, ask a third grader!
4th grade students found another way to celebrate Earth Day.....some fresh air and a good book! Great pictures taken by Mr. Shope!
This week:
I am sure that all of you are doing some very important things this week but did you know that in one hour, you could save up to 3 lives?
Thursday, April 30th is our annual blood drive. As I mentioned last week, we need your help to make this a successful event.
First, we need individuals that are willing to give blood! If you are, please click here and use Sponsor Code: KHES.
Second, we need volunteers to help during the event. If you are willing to give of your time, click here and sign up for one or more time slots.
Third, we need food donations that will be used to feed the donors! If you are willing to provide nourishment, please click here to sign up.
Thank you!
Next week:
Next week is going to be a very busy and exciting week at KHES! Starting Monday, May 4th, we will have our Spring Book Fair. Ms. Bryson is still in need of volunteers, so if you are willing and able to do so, please click here.
Wednesday! Wednesday! Wednesday! Two wonderful events are happening on Wednesday, May 6th. First, we will have Walk/Bike to School Day. Second, we will have Family Science Night from 5 to 7pm. Both events provide a great opportunity for our school community to interact!
