Beachcombers -- Our education crew had some neat finds including whelk egg cases, driftwood and even shark vertebrae while beachcombing on northside of Pier earlier this week. They use the finds in their program, Beach Explorations.

Cold but not windy today. Air temp 39 degrees; water temp 50 degrees. Winds W at 5 knots. Low tide 7:14 a.m. High tide 12:54 p.m. Ocean calm with tiny waves rolling in.

Partly cloudy, foggy and warmer this morning. No one is fishing yet. Winds from the North are around 5 knots. Air temp 50 degrees; water temp 52 degrees. Low tide 5 a.m. High tide 10:59 a.m. Dustin, Flannery and Jenna found quite a variety of litter on the beach after the big blow last week.

Big Blow -- The Pier was buffeted by heavy winds overnight including a 101-mph gust at 10:18 p.m. that may have been a microburst, waterspout or tornado.
