The Dare County Library Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization established in 2002 to support and enhance the services, resources, and programs of the Dare County Library. Through charitable giving and community partnerships, the Foundation helps fund projects and programs not typically covered by public funding, allowing the library to grow and better serve its patrons. For more than twenty years, the Foundation has played a key role in improving library technology, furnishings, and special initiatives such as Book Clubs, the Seed Library, the Library Speakers Consortium, and the annual Summer Reading Program at all three branches, promoting literacy and S.T.E.A.M. learning for residents and visitors throughout Dare County.
