Check out our new video! It tells the story of a conference Wood Island hosted around the Seacoast area for the US Life-Saving Service Heritage Association this past September! It also shows the remarkable progress of the Wood Island restoration for 2023. The work is not quite complete (the bathrooms are not yet working, for example) but we are very near. We plan to open the museum in the summer of 2024. But to get there, every dollar counts. Please consider a tax-deductible, end-of-year, gift to Wood Island Life Saving Station Association.

Are you a local history buff? Are you a descendant of a US Lifesaving Service or early Coast Guard member? Are you new to the area and simply want to get involved in the community? Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station has something for you. On Friday, November 24, 2023 Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station will host our annual Thanksgiving/ Christmas event and visit by Santa. That same day, Chicamacomico Board of Director members, staff and volunteers will be on site to answer questions and glean information from you, the general public to see in what capacity you can help us present this important history.

Don't miss this event tomorrow! Meet on the porch and take a walk back to the 1874 Station which houses Surfboat 1046 and hear the amazing story of how that very boat was used in the WWI rescue of the crew of the torpedoed British Oil Tanker Mirlo by the surfmen of Chicamacomico.
