A Back to the Future Message to the Community . . .
In 2005, while holding full time jobs and also running a well-respected day camp near our home in suburban Maryland, we decided to build and open the Atlantic Coast Café in Tri-Villages where we were annual vacationers with our family and friends since 1980. The future (aka retirement) seemed eons away at the time and many of our favorite restaurants had become rental housing as the vacation allure of the community was growing, so it seemed like a great way to contribute to the beach town we’d come to love.
And of course, that was THEN and this is NOW. Although “seventy is the new sixty,” the word “retire” had been creeping into our conversations for some time, and just as we began to consider the possibility of less structured pursuits and more time with family, we received an offer to purchase the ACC building. We are taking it as a sign that NOW is the time. Who knows, maybe the ACC will pop up elsewhere in the near future, but for now, as you have probably guessed, this will be the last season for ACC in its home in Waves.
But we aren’t going anywhere this season! Jacob assures you that he and his awesome staff will be welcoming you, 8am to 8pm Tuesday thru Saturday with fresh coffee, grilled wraps and reubens, fan favorite fish tacos and burgers … the full menu, breakfast, lunch and dinner. We are just as pumped to deliver “Great Food ~ Awesome Service” today as we were when we first opened in 2005!
We’ll have more to say toward the end of the season. For now, we are wishing you a great vacation and all the best going forward.
See you Tuesday.
