Our EPIC Project, an acronym for Emitting Positive Impact Collectively, was founded to strengthen, support and share the local beach communities that Outer Banks Boil Company is proud to serve. Beginning with its first location in Corolla, three distinct and powerful programs will be to strengthen mental health initiatives, support entrepreneurial spirit and share all the community has to offer by providing an EPIC vacation to a deserving family.
Living and working at the beach is a dream for many. The truth is that living and working in these communities come with a host of issues that can impact mental health. Seasonality can be manic, anxiety and stress dominate the high season, depression and isolation in the low season, substance issues and lack of mental health resources are problems that many beach communities face.
We want to empower the folks in our community to look out for each other and provide resources that help us do just that. Community based initiatives like providing training programs, awareness and resources and organizing community activities are just a start. Our hope is to develop an ongoing program that supports these efforts and builds upon them to create a foundation for better mental health. It's what we like to call "Our EPIC Wellness Journey."
The spirit of entrepreneurism is ingrained throughout the Outer Banks Boil Company culture. We want to foster that spirit through our support of those who wish to pursue their own entrepreneurial dreams. Using the OBBC platform, our business contacts and experience we want to encourage individuals who portray that same desire to make their own path with dedication, hard work and a desire to be different.
Lastly, Outer Banks Boil Company has been honored to be a part of so many family vacation traditions. We realize that for every family we serve, there are several others who are unable to enjoy this simple but well deserved break. At Our Epic Project we know the value of a family vacation is not only the fun had and the memories made, but it’s great for mental health. Taking a family vacation can reduces stress, increase serotonin levels and provide an opportunity for families to connect. Being able receive these benefits without the financial burden is where Our EPIC Project steps in. We want to be able to make the dream of experiencing an EPIC summer vacation family retreat a reality for deserving families!
Each April, Our EPIC Project hosts a premier golf tournament at the Currituck Club in Corolla. This highly anticipated event has sold out each year and is now a two-day event! This event allows us to continue doing great work here on the Outer Banks.
