
Carova Beach Volunteer Fire and Rescue services the 12-mile stretch of unimproved roads from the North Beach access at the end of the pavement in Corolla to the NC/VA line. Station 7 is the primary station housing the apparatus and a landing zone for air medical services. Station 7-2 is located in Swan Beach and currently has a landing zone for air medical services. A future station is planned for this location to expand coverage capabilities.
Carova Beach Volunteer Fire and Rescue was recognized by the State of North Carolina Department of Insurance and the State Fire Marshal as a rated department in 1998. This department continues to comply with the state requirements and to maintain its 9-S rating, with compliance audits in 2001 and 2007.
Carova Beach Volunteer Fire and Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run organization. Our members donate their time to train and respond to fire and rescue calls in our service district.
