If you haven't been here in awhile, you might not know that there's now a big, bright, splashy, entertaining Outer Banks water park! Just north of the Umstead Bridge in Currituck County, H2OBX opened in 2017 and provides a new way to enjoy getting wet! This park has some of the most innovative water-related rides you've ever experienced if you're a regular visitor to such places. The endless wave pool is extremely popular as are the raft adventures. There are areas specifically for kids and wee ones. And then there are those slides. If you have a lot of nerve, try out the ones on the top level where you stand there waiting for the bottom to drop out . . . then it does . . . then you're barrelling down five stories to the leveling out shoot at the end. Whew. This Outer Banks water park has themes that mark the area's history, legends and sights. There are plenty of chairs to claim for sunbathing and relaxing along with cabanas that afford privacy and shade. You can eat at one of four food stops and enjoy a cold beer too. The park is extremely clean, and the ratio of lifeguards to guests makes you feel well-looked after.
