One of the new sports to hit this area is Outer Banks disc golf. A new course that runs through the woods in Kill Devil Hills provides 18 baskets and tees for professionals and practice. The land was donated by Bob and Lin Logan in memory of their son, Casey, who loved playing the sport. The Casey R. Logan Disc Golf Course has been in the making for eight years and opened late 2017. It winds through a mostly pine forest with benches along the way. The course work and materials were donated by locals, and each basket is sponsored by a local business. Outer Banks disc golf is a perfect family activity since all skill levels can have fun romping through the woods even if it takes many throws to reach the basket. The course is situated behind the First Flight Football field and has a convenient parking lot.
