AVID

The 8th grade AVID class will take a trip to Elizabeth City on 4/12/16 to get a close look at college life.

Odyssey of the Mind

We are so proud of our Odyssey of the Mind students. During Spring Break 2 of our teams went to the state competition.  The Stack Attack Team placed 4th and had a perfect spontaneous score in their problem and division.  The No Cycle Recycle A team coached by Scott and Jamie Frazee placed in 6th place in their problem and division.  These students had tough competition and really were champions in just going to the state level to compete.  Our school had 31 students involved in the 5 teams that represented our school during this season's Odyssey of the Mind.

We are already making plans for next year and feel that the number of students involved will increase.  We will be sponsoring fund raiser for all students and staff to help with supplies for our growing program.

AIG

The collected group of AIG students from all grades will be treated to a guess speaker on April 14th.

Math Contest

Students from both Manteo High School and Manteo Middle School attended the math contest at Elizabeth City State on April 7th.  We are very proud of our students and know that they gained much from the experience.

Yubin Kim and Caleb Maher are state qualifiers, along with Bella Bartell placing 3rd. The MMS team placed 1st in Algebra 1! Max Janesik placed 2nd in Geometry. MHS placed 1st in Geometry, Algebra 2, and Comprehensive. Manteo took 1st in 3 out of 4 categories!
