Staff at MMS prepares for the daily use of Chromebooks.

 

 

 

 

Sports

Spring sports try-outs will begin 2/29.  Softball and baseball will be at MMS from 3:15 to 5:00.  Track will be split between MMS and MHS, please check with your student as to where they will need to be picked up.

AVID

AVID students are continuing to plan for Relay for Life and for their bike helmet presentation at Manteo Elementary school.

 

                                                              

Odyssey of the Mind

AIG

The interest groups met again on Feb 19th and the science group was treated to a presentation by John McCord from the Coastal Studies Institute.  He shared 3D imagining with the students. 

SGA

The SGA will be collecting "Pennies for Patients" now through March 23rd please send in your extra change!

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society will be going to Manteo Elementary school to help them celebrate "Read Across America".  

 

 

                                                                                                                                    

Rachel's Challenge

The Rachel Challenge students are gearing up for another event coming in March.  We will send more information out as we get it but mean time keep a look out for our ever growing chains of kindness.

Other Stories of Interest

8th grade science classes shared fishing stories with commercial fisherman Dewey Hemilright.  The Coastal Federation asked Mr Hemilright to help students better understand the role of fishermen in our economy and how clean water effects us all.

 

7th Grade students will spend the day at the bowling alley on March 2nd.  The day will focus on connecting all academic areas into one sport.
