NO SCHOOL for students both Feb 15 and 16.
Sports
Basketball season is now complete. The Wrestling tournament has been rescheduled to February 20th. Congratulations to all the athletes. We will celebrate these athletes on Feb 24th at 6:00 pm.
*Please make sure all paperwork has been turned into the office if your child is interested in Spring Sports. Try -Outs begin Feb 29th, sign up in PE classes will occur the week of 2/17.
Odyssey of the Mind
The competition will be March 12th. The teams are working hard preparing! A BIG thank you to parents Hope you can support the teams as they prepare for their competition.
AIG
Guess speaker, James Gilreath, spoke to a group of AIG students about a career as a lawyer. He talked with them about what skills they should focus on as they make their way through school. We want to extend a thank you to him for taking time to visit the students at MMS.
Rachel's Challenge
Chains of kindness are starting to appear throughout MMS. The Friends of Rachel Club has also spread positive messages to the 6th and 8th grade students/staff by placing messages on lockers and doors. 7th grade and exploratory groups will get a boost later this month.
Awards Assembly
Each grade level celebrated the success of 2nd quarter at an awards assembly on Friday. Congratulations to all the Manteo Middle School students who received awards.
7th Grade
Mrs Magee's science classes are doing mini labs looking at muscles.
Voluntary and Involuntary: with Blinking
Muscular endurance: Clipping paper clips, Muscular strength push-ups on chairs. This lab will be followed by flexibility arm reach.
