Spring weather finally came to MMS!
Four MMS students have placed in the Women's Club State Arts Festival Competition! Rachel Midgett (2nd place for her ship sculpture), Brandon Martinez (3rd place for his ship sculpture), Alyse Stewart (3rd place for a charcoal drawing), and Kathy Davis (Honorable Mention for her pottery). Art work is on display in the main hall showcase.
OM will advance to state after placing second at regionals last week. Competition will be April 11th at Appalachian State University in Boone.
A group of 8th grade students went with Frank Vrablic from Manteo High School to the CSI building in Barco to link math and science in activities. The group came back VERY excited about the instruments and possibilities they were able to connect.
The 8th grade club lead by Mrs Lucanio and Mrs Spinella did fingerprinting this week. Students are having a great time simulating how crimes are solved.
6th Grade science classes will be doing the big 6 with Mrs Houseknecht in the media center as they apply this method to develop reports on stewardship.
Therapy dogs visited Mrs Witter's classes and brough a smile to many faces.
Check out this you tube that Watson Harvey, Katherinne Rabanal, and Emily Pack made and entered in to a state competition. Their goal was to bridge the gap between paper and technology in the world of health information.
