Outer Banks Restaurants

Coffeehouses & Smoothies

As with the rest of the world, the Outer Banks has a love affair with coffeehouses. Yes, we have a Starbucks here, but we also have our own, local coffee shops. Every town has at least two choices, so your caffeine jones doesn't have to last long without satiation. Our Outer Banks coffee shops are all laid back hang out spots, and if you frequent them regularly, even if you're only here on vacation, you'll soon feel like part of the gang! The aroma of freshly roasting beans will surely draw you in, but if you need more enticement, sniff the air for those apple turnovers, scones and other sweet rolls. Many of the local coffeehouses also offer smoothies, of the coffee or healthy (as in fruit, whey, yogurt -- you know the sort) variety. And several of our Outer Banks coffeehouses are also great places to shop for wine (several even do wine tastings on selected evenings). Since so many of you crazy java drinkers like to get a jump on the day, most Outer Banks coffee shops are open quite early in the morning...so you can get a surge as you watch that beautiful sun rise over the ocean.
