The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Outer Banks (UUCOB) will be hosting the opening of a new art exhibition by encaustic artist Doreen Farah Nadolny. Encaustic—derived from the Greek word meaning “to burn”—is an ancient art form that combines beeswax, natural damar resin, and pigment. Heated and layered, the medium is brushed onto a surface, then fused with heat to create a smooth, translucent finish.
