The Outer Banks Arboretum and Teaching Garden was created by the Extension Master Gardener Program of the Dare County Center of the N.C. Cooperative Extension. It's free to walk through the garden, which is next to the Thomas A. Baum Senior Center in Kill Devil Hills, every day from dawn to dusk. The pathways are wheelchair accessible. The garden is a great place to enjoy seasonal color and learn about the plants that grown well on the Outer Banks. One part of the garden is a Butterfly Garden. Leashed pets are welcome.
