The Town of Duck has a fabulous boardwalk along the Currituck Sound. You can't see it from the main road, so you might not know it's there. But once you discover the mile-long walkway, you'll want to walk here instead of along the roadside. The wooden walkway links the 11-acre Duck Town Park with restaurants and shops, passing over the water and along marsh and forest landscapes along the way. It's hands-down the best sunset viewing venue in town, and it's great for viewing wildlife too, especially herons, egrets and osprey. Public boat slips are available on the north and south ends, and a kayak launch is available in the park area. The north end is at the Waterfront Shops, and the south end is near Christopher Drive.
