The sibling owners of Bros Sandwich Shack share a passion for cooking and a love of Hatteras Island. Classically trained as chefs, the brothers long dreamed of owning their own restaurant. While vacationing on Hatteras, the opportunity arose to buy a restaurant, so the brothers leaped at the chance and moved to the island. From beef ground in-house to waffle fries, pickles and sauces, almost everything you’ll find at Bros is house made. The menu showcases burgers and hot sandwiches and has expanded to feature a new selection of craft bottled beer from Foothills Brewery. They have a 12-seat bar and recently remodeled the restaurant, expanding their seating capacity to 70 seats. Bros offers daily, weekly and seasonal specials. Try out the Cowboy Bro, a fresh burger basted in sriracha BBQ sauce, pepper jack cheese, smoked gouda and peppered bacon. Vegetarians will find options here too; we suggest the mouthwatering Swiss cheese sandwich topped with red wine-marinated sauteed mushrooms.
