A Comfortable Place to Stay in the Heart of Manteo

Cameron House Next Door is a sweet spot to stay in downtown Manteo. We’re a short stroll away from all the restaurants, shops, art galleries and attractions that this small island town offers, and our location is also in the middle of the entire Outer Banks, making visits to Corolla to the north or Hatteras to the south easy. But there’s so much to do right here, including many of the Outer Banks’ most popular attractions such as The Elizabethan Gardens, the Lost Colony outdoor drama, the NC Aquarium, Roanoke Island Festival Park and more. We even have a lighthouse a block away!

Our Air B&B is situated in our beautiful home that was originally built in 1903. We completely restored it – and enlarged it quite a bit – in 1999. Currently, we only have the Sandpiper room availble for rent, but three others will be ready in the fall of 2021. The Sandpiper is a large room that can handle four people. It has a mini-fridge and Keurig coffeemaker for your convenience. Downstairs you have a private entranceway through your own screened-in breezeway that features a wood-burning fireplace, sofa and chairs. There's a half-bath downstairs too. You're welcome to bring your furry family member to this room, but we do ask that you call us with details prior to arriving.

When the three other rooms are ready on the other end of the house, you'll enjoy the comfortable sitting room that has a large, high res TV, a fireplace and a library. Two of these rooms are upstairs, and one is down. All rooms have private baths, hairdryers, towels, luxury linens, Keurig coffeemakers and closets. You have a private entrance to these rooms in the main house and a private staircase leading to the second-floor rooms. While these three rooms share the same house with the owners, Beth and Michael, they are separate from their living area. The house is large enough that you the experience the Air B&B part of the house as private.

All our guests can while away a quiet evening on the front porch in the rocking chairs or hammock. Manteo is a throw-back to simpler times. It’s a lovely little town to walk around or bike, the pace is slower but definitely still fun. Come visit!
