  • Cape Hatteras Secondary School is working with the Dare Education Foundation to bring the community a weekly newsletter about the happenings and events at Cape Hatteras Secondary School.   Please look for more of these newsletters to be sent towards the end of each school week.  Click on the links to find out all that is going on at CHSS!  

Important Reminders:

  • ****RESCHEDULED - DUE TO WEATHER**** to  March 12th. ATTENTION all Parents of Rising Juniors and Seniors for the 2015-2016 School Year!!! CHSS is partnering with the College of the Albemarle to provide upcoming Juniors and Seniors with the opportunity to earn an accelerated Associates of Arts Degree. All course work is designed to be transferable into larger colleges and universities.  Students graduating from CHSS can have already earned up to one year of college credits.  COA will be give away a full scholarship for students to earn the rest of the Associates of Arts Degree for free!!  

 

  • ATTENTION Parents and Students- ALERT!!   There will be a mandatory meeting for ALL PARENTS OF PLAYERS and PLAYERS interested in playing High School Football next school year on Wednesday, February 25th at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Please be present to discuss several very important issues.

 

  • There will be a Cape Hatteras Secondary School Student Art Show on display at the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum from March 3rd-26th.  A reception will be held at the Museum on March 12th at 6:30 pm for the students.  Remember the museum is free to the public and hours are Monday-Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.

 

  • CHSS Juniors will be taking the ACT on March 3rd.      

 

  • The Winter Sports Banquet will held in the school auditorium on March 11th at 6 p.m. for the middle school and 7 p.m. for the high school.

Mrs. Polk's report from the competition:  "First off, I want to say how proud I am of every member of our CHSS Science Olympiad team! Ask any of the members and they will tell you how much work it takes.Our team this year totally rocked it and this year was just our first time! Here is a list of our awards, but again I am extremely proud of every single member!"
